Resiliency & Empathy: The Art of Healing Trauma

This presentation will address why resiliencyundefinedthe ability to recover or bounce-backundefinedand empathyundefinedthe ability to feel what others feelundefinedare key components of trauma intervention and recovery. Current, practical research about resiliency, empathy, and the brain will be explained, with an emphasis about why art expression and creativity are key factors in supporting resilience and posttraumatic growth in our clients.

Saturday Keynote Workshop:

Developing an Attitude of Gratitude:  9:00 AM  - 12:00 PM

In the field of “happiness” studies, experiencing gratitude is one of the most powerful factors in mental health and in overall wellness. It is also one of the keys to trauma recovery for many people, particularly those with posttraumatic stress symptoms. In this workshop, you will be calling forth your “courageous creativity” to experience gratitude on a deeper level and creating a specific art piece to access and maintain the practice of gratitude in your life.

The annual membership Luncheon will be held at 12:30 PM, price included in Full Symposium Registration.
