The Cuyahoga Community College Veterans Initiative, in partnership with The Louis Stokes Veterans’ Medical Center and The Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation are pleased to present:

 

The Art(s) of Healing Symposium and Exhibition

Music & Art Therapy as Tools for Transitioning Veterans

 

The symposium portion of the event will be held Friday, May 4th from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. at The Louis Stokes VAMC Education Center located on the hospital campus at 10701 East Boulevard, Cleveland, OH 44106.  Here is a link to driving directions: http://www.cleveland.va.gov/visitors/directions.asp 

 

The symposium, which itself is FREE and also includes a FREE lunch, will feature art and music therapy workshops, panel discussions with veteran patients using these therapies as transition tools, and an art display and preview of the May 5th Veterans Creative Arts Exhibition.  $10 for THREE CEU’s.  Educators are encouraged to bring students who are interested in pursuing careers in the art and music therapy fields who may have never thought of working within the veterans’ community.

On Saturday, May 5th the event continues with the day-long Veterans Creative Arts Exhibition which will feature of a variety of creative arts done by veterans including paintings, music and much more.  The exhibition will be held in the main lobby of The Louis Stokes VA Medical Center and run from 10 am until 3 pm.  As with the symposium, this is a free event open to the public.
