Responding to Aftermath of the Chardon School Shooting, Laura Serazin, MA, ATR
This presentation will describe and demonstrate the implementation of art therapy, drum circles, relaxation, and guided imagery to promote wellness and healing to those affected by a school shooting. This includes family groups, school staff support, and peer group activities. This presentation will include photos, video clips, and a PowerPoint presentation. Participants in this workshop will have the chance to engage in experiential activities.
 
Peace Begins with Me: Creating Peacemakers through Creativity, Gretchen M. Miller, MA, ATR-BC, CTC
This workshop will focus on strategies important to facilitating group work that focuses on peacemaking themes with children who have been exposed to domestic violence, bullying, and relational aggression. Participants will learn interventions that include sensory-based interventions, therapeutic books, and art expression that foster peacemaking concepts and social change. In addition, content presented will help participants gain a trauma informed understanding about how these strategies and interventions promote safety, emotional expression, and coping.
